Beha steps down from Cardinal Helm

Head Baseball Coach Jeff Beha stepped down on June 21st as the Cardinals skipper after three years.  "The decision was largely based in my transfer to Keithley M.S. for my teaching contract.  It would be very difficult to coordinate from that distance, and it is hard enough already with a growing family to get everyone to their events," said Beha.  "My fifteen years in Cardinal Baseball have been tremendous.  The only thing I wish we'd have been able to do is to get us to a Final Four.  Thats something that I think this program is building towards.   It will great to be watching when they finally get there." The school district has not yet set a timeline for a hiring.

Kaaiwela is 2nd Team All-State

6-17-10  The Everett Herald today announced the 2010 Washington State Coaches Association 3A All State Team and Deven Kaaiwela, a Junior 2nd baseman was named 2nd team.  

Post Season Honors Roll In

The Cardinals fared well in the 2010 SPSL 3A All League balloting.   Junior Deven Kaaiwela took home 1st team  All league at second base.  Senior Jon Deck and Junior Mickey Lyons were both honored as second team  All league at pitcher.   Additionally, Antonio Turner was selected as second team Utility player, and Jordon Woodring was selected as a second team outfielder.

Senior Dempsey Wheelock was honorable mention OF, as was Sophomore Steven Cabrera.

Both of FP's seniors were selected to participate in the Senior All Star game.

Cardinals upended at Districts

Franklin Pierce lost to Sumner 7-2 today to end their postseason run.  The Cardinals took their earliest exit from the playoffs since 2002, falling in a loser out game.   Sumner and Enumclaw move on as the state participants from the SPSL 3A this season.

The Cardinals finish their season at 12-10.
