Former Card takes team to brink of NCAA tournament

Brooks Roy pitched 7 2/3 innings Friday morning to help Liberty University defeat Gardner-Webb 4-3 in Big South Conference Baseball tournament being held in High Point, N.C..  Liberty used a walk off homer to advance to the tournament final against Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time on ESPN 3.   The tournament winner will earn the automatic berth into the NCAA Division 1 Baseball tournament at a TBD site next weekend.   Liberty, the number 3 seed into the tournament, is now 41-18 on the season.  Potentially, with 40 wins, Liberty could win an at-large bid to the tournament even with a loss.  They are considered a "bubble" team for the bracket of 64.   Along the way, Liberty defeated Campbell, 7-0.   Another former Cardinal, Andrew Jacobsen, pitched 2 1/3 innings in an elimination game after the Campbell loss.  More here...

Cards selected for all league team

Steven Cabrera (1st Team Pitcher) and Ben Scheussler (1st Team Utility) were selected to the 2A All SPSL team on Tuesday night.   Heru Zink (Extra Infielder) and Sean McElliott (3rd Base) were selected to the second team.  John Samons, Sullivan Wheelock, and Zach Myers were honorable mention.

Ex Card Kaaiwela's team advances in the NWAACC Championships

Deven Kaaiwela added an RBI and 3 walks as Pierce College defeated Bellevue, 10-9 on Thursday night. 

CARDINAL BOOSTER CLUB ANNOUNCES MAJOR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PRIOR TO 2013 SEASON

May 14, 2012- As the 2012 season winds down, Coach Nick Aloisio has announced that the Cardinals are looking to make some major improvements to the FP Field prior to the 2013 season.  Alumni and supporters are encouraged to get involved.   The Cardinals goal is $30,000, which would be used to put a red fabric backdrop on the outfield fence, put in an inning by inning scoreboard in right field, and finish the brick supporter picnic area began three years ago.  Contributions can be made to the Franklin Pierce Booster Club.  The goal is to have all of the projects complete prior to the Cards hosting the 2013 2A West Central District Tournament.
